I think I pay about $180 for a refill on my 'e' size cylinder, so I'm thinking the 'g' will be about $220-250. You will be able to get a refill but they'll send you a bill in 3 months for the next 12 month hire of the gas bottle. |

You can choose the period that ya rent boc bottles. I pay monthly. I am sure you can even rent by the day. Monthly rent is a little more but when I take the bottle back I just pay that months rent. It is $14 or15 per month |

I forgot to add. Most local boc dealers don't care about ya business so don't expect them to help you save money. My local dealer is a dodgy wog bastard. |

Haha ball is my local dealer. Change you're account to monthly rental and get a new bottle. For reference I pay $180 for a little e bottle. At least I think it is a e, about the same size as my welder. |

If you are dealing directly with a BOC gas and gear centre they can negotiate to some degree as they are company owned outlets. If you are dealing with an agent, they have no ability whatsoever to alter pricing (Business I work in is a BOC agent) Our pricing is dictated to us by BOC and we are not allowed to make any changes in any way shape or form. We are simply paid a comission on each bottle we handle for them. BOC have gotten bloody expensive in recent months. Air Liquide is about your only other major gas mob option. Linde are owned by BOC. as is Elgas. |

KEENSY85 wrote: Na ue right shep they don't care it looks like I'm for @ least $180 It's not that they don't care. An agent has absolutely no control or any way to modify pricing. Only account managers at BOC can do that. If your mate can get Air liquide to supply an e argoshiled for $60 I would grab that. I would expect you would pay $90 -$120 in the southern states for that size from BOC. They are 180 in the Territory and they claim it's because of freight. A g size retails for around 320 up here. |

I bought a e size bottle outright from gas weld other day, $400, only reason was I only use my mig for odd jobs & I was over paying rent, so in the long run ill save money as bottle has a ten year life & now a re fill/ bottle swap will only cost me 120.. |

I don't have time to shop around this week as my weeks pretty hectic, so I had to go back to boc but I got the e2 size bottle for $100 and returned the g size. In three months I'm thinking I might drop back to quartly until I run out of gas |

I cant even get argoshield here. Im going back to Melbourne on the 20th, while im there I am going to return my Bottle (which Im still renting) and bring the welder back to Vanautu with me. (hijack on) Looks like I have a few options: Gasless wire Gasless wire with CO2 CO2 Welding wire with CO2 (apparently it uses just C02 for the shield and is way better than the above 2 options) Argon and CO2 bottles, two regulators and a Y piece. Argon and CO2 bottles, and a Gas mixer ($$). Import my own bottles from Fiji.. The CO2 welding wire sounds like a good option, anyone here used it? It seems hard to find taken a bit of googling to track it down at all in AU. http://www.lincolnelectric.com.au/produ ... roduct4224 But the above doesnt say what material it is for (in english anyway).. If it is a good solution, anyone got any incites? |

I've been borrowing a stick welder for odd jobs, but its not a great one and I have been missing my MIG.. I have rust repairs to do in my Jimny floor and I would prefer not to buy a stick welder, I gave my old one away for free not so long ago. hmm.. Maybe if I buy one that can TIG weld I could justify it to myself. hmm.. http://www.tradetools.com/products/MULTI40HF I suppose I can then just use the Argon that is abvailiable and Tig weld everthing. and I would have a plasma cutter! |

In three months I'm thinking I might drop back to quartly until I run out of gas I'd still get a g size gas bottle of agosheild light and go by ur self a inverter stick there little like hand bag size and the run nice, not so unstable as the old ones a lot lot easer to weld with |
