EDIT : Sorted. Fuel pump had died.
Hi Guys,
g16b vitara.
Filled up with fuel (Unleaded) on the way to work. Got to work fine (about 10km from petrol station). Went to start it just now and it won't start.
- Turns over, does not fire.
- checked fuses under drivers dash, and the 3 big ones in engine bay, right side. (Mind you...one of them - the biggest - I could not get out..but the fuse looks fine)
- Spark from coil to dizzy is good
- have not checked spark on each lead out of the dizzy (do I need to? Will have to orgniase someone to come help me)
- I can't hear the fuel pump making noise...but I can't say I ever have in the 6 years i've owned it.
It did have a new dizzy and fuel pump/filter about a year ago (not that it means much, as they can both die obviously)
Hopefully I can get some more ideas, but my thoughts are to check;
1) Where is the fuel pump relay and fuse?
2) What is the best way to check if fuel is getting to the engine? Can I just pull off one of the lines into/out of fuel rail? If the igntion is on (car not started obviously), should there be a constant flow of fuel? drizzle or pressure?
3) What else should I check?
Thanks
