In fact they are as thick as GTi rods but have smaller pins connecting the pistons. People boost GTi all the time. Be interesting to know how well the car does without a turbo. Been mulling over a quad-1.4l NA G13 for some time now |

You know now days i feel simple fixed-jet quad-carbs in an NA engine would better than CV or EFI. The reasoning being they are simple, reliable and robust design that can be fixed out in the field without dedicated gadgets. Tune time on buttefly fixed jets has to be considerbly less than CV carbs |

CVs are great! Just because they have more accurate metering and more fueling circuits doesn't mean they are wayyy harder to tune. Tune can be made considerably closer to the ideal than fixed jet carbs. They also don't need any dedicated gadgets to be worked on out in the field. Only butterfly fixed jet quad carb setup i can think of would be a weber side-draft setup and I don't think efficiency is an option with them. |
