Hi guys,

I have recently brought a 1983 Hardtop Sierra with a 1L in here,

just wanted to know if what the options there are to change the engine to something a little more powerfull and whats needed todo this like can i use the same gearbox/engine mounts.

Sorry about this you have probs heard it hundreds of times but have tried searching etc but cant find any info to help.

Thanks again guys

Yeah, it has been discussed a few times. Unfortunately you will need to swap engine mounts to fit anything else. Simple/cheap option would be a G13 and matching 5 speed (gearbox mount and tunnel will need modifying). Another option would be the G16, either carby or EFi. Lots of different non Suzuki motors have been fitted also but a bit more dicking around.

Welcome to AZ also Armsup

The 1L isn't a bad motor, a little bit of work and they run ok. Is yours tired or not going?
