Hey All

I'm looking for pictures and information pertaining to rear mounted winch setups in Suzukis .

Perticually in regards to routing the rope underneath and the critical distance from the winch drum to the first guide eye . which should ensure that the rope spools onto the drum Nicly on its own accord .

any info would be appreicated .

Why not make a cradle to slot into a square Tow hitch? Be alot easier to set up.

I know (recently forsale) BBM's zook had a cut down ARB bar on the rear with a winch on it.

Liam the owner of that truck is a mate of mine, and im the proud owner of that bar, as well as the front bar, and engine/gearbox (complete with sidchrome shifter gear stick haha). Its a front arb bar cut down as mentioned, which needs custom brackets made for it to fit. If your going to that much trouble, you may as well make you own bar, as the mounting points on the arb bar dont line up with the rear of the chassis. im going to run the bar, and mount it strong enough to hold a winch, but dont think ill ever run

pretty sure he wants to run a rear mounted winch & run the cable forward going by the mention of rope guides... there are a few ones on outerlimits4x4 from memory.

Yeah I have seen quite a few rear and mid mount setups that worked well. I did have pics until my old PC went belly up.

It's quite a commen mod on winch challenge Nissians & Toyotas . As it keeps the winch out of the mud , but they have a lot more room to play with .

The problem in a Suzuki , (Especially a SWB) is how to mount the winch . Trying to get enough room, to get the right distance, for good spooling of the rope .
I want the winch in the back to help with weight distribution (9000lb Winch ) be close to the battery , and give me the option of a rearward winching as well.
You can do it by basically hanging the Winch off the back of the chassis , but then where do you put the fuel tank ? .

I've got a few ideas , just keen to see how others have done it , before I dive in .

All good points. None of which I need consider due to the cab chassis layout of my sierra

Personally, I think that mid mounting is a better option for a swb sierra. Even if you cave to cut out some floor to do so.
