Post subject:  identifying swift GTI engine.

Have a GTI motor in my zook and its done a head gasket so I need a new gaskit kit for it but I need to know if its a mk2 or what year it is?
Here is the engine number: G13B-137214
Any help much appriciated.

I am sure that all the g13s have the same head gaskit. My mk1 GTI has the same gaskit as a single cam g13 and it works fine.

If you post a pic of the motor someone will know what it is.

When I was at auto barn trying to get a gasket he said there are many different ones. So I don't know what he is on about.

Maybe he's talking about the inlet manifold gasket because I know for a fact that between the early MK1's and the later models are not the same
The heads on the early MK1's had an extra water gallery near the top of the first cylinder while the MK2/3's had it blanked off

Got it sorted hopfully. Went to Bursons and ordered a vrs kit for $180. Should be in Friday. Hopfully its the right gasket kit lol.
