A very common question that seem to show its ugly head on here is what seats can I put in my sierra? Well I figured if we got a few pics/comments of some different seats in different sierras could help shed some light on the situation. Should mention mods needed to fit year model, and what they where from and general review of the seats if you can.

Ill get the ball rolling.

Apologise for crappy pic but you get the idea, seats are from a Toyota Corona early 90s late 80s ish. In 82 swb soft top. They almost fit with original seat rails but the rear section of the rail was a bit squeif. And both passenger and driver seats where the same rails so the wouldn't fit with higher drivers side anyway. So I swapped the rails over to original sierra ones and with some re drilling holes to mount the rail to the seat the bolted straight up. They are nice and firm and chould shoulder support and fit a bloke with a small build quite well.

No pics (yet), but I installed BMW E30 seats (3 series from 1983 to 1989) and they fit perfectly and are really comfortable. One of the best and simplest mods I have done - just had to drill four new holes in the floor for the rail bolts. The passenger side seat folds forward with a double hinge effect that give a lot more clearance for someone getting in the back, too, if you carry passengers as I occasionally do.

Wen to take pics, but nothing to see now - got wool covers on them. BMW E30's did come with leather, but quite rare. Mine are cloth seats. They are a bit higher than the standard Sierra ones. The BMW seats come in unit with the base and rails, so it is just a matter of plonking them in, marking the new mounting holes, drilling through the floor and bolting them down, plus putting bolts on the old holes to seal the floor.

Recaro drivers seat.......from wrecked EB Falcon. The Recaro mounts are fairly workable and not a bit job to make fit. Its fitted using the origional Suzuki mounting points. I did make it sit a bit high at 1st and was going to lower it a tad, but after a while in the seat i actually prefer it that way now. I'm not exactually tall tho....

Bit of a pain getting in and out simetimes with the highish sides on the base, gotta watch the nuts if its been a bit of a dry spell...but offers a hell of a lot more suport and comfort than the origional...
