The TT unit DDs well  In the mud I think there worthless, not worth the $400. In technical rock tho, absolutely gold when you figure out the right time to use it. I currently only have drum handbrake but am upgrading to disk rear and line locks. Hoping it betters the dig operation again. But I really think the person driving makes it worth it or not. PS: not a shot at Gwagen. |

Ahh ok thanks that helps heaps I am doing rear disk brake soon with the electronic line locker on the rear and move the transfer hand brake so I can do rear disconnect |

It can also be used for when the front end is trying to climb a large step up, you flick the lever for front wheel drive, you then dont have the rear trying to push you into the ledge whilst the front end is trying to climb vertically. Again this is only useful when you have a near 90 degree approach angle like on a buggy and not a bullbar, bumpers or shackles sticking out the front. |

Obviously I'm in Melbourne so we don't have much technical rock, and I'm more than aware that digs/burns do work. I've found that with 29˚ of steering angle, and even with my Krawlers, I don't really have enough traction to get the front to do much. With more steering angle and maybe some more weight on the front end it might be more effective, but it's a real lucky dip as to whether it's going to work or not. Wne it's worked to say, jockey the front of the car over 12" or so to get the right line, it's been great, but more often than not, you unload drive, shuffle around with the lever, line lock the back end, give it full lock, punch it, and nothing happens, so it's unload drive, shuffle the lever back in, and drive it like everyone else. I was fully on board with the theory of how useful it would be, it just didn't pan out that way, for my use. With stickies, 40˚of steering and dry rock, I can see it being really cool. don't have any of those things. We have two cars in the club with them, we've both had the same result. Steve. |

Hell it would probably be more effective to have a set of cutting brakes. Atleast then when your on 'non sticky surfaces' it could lock out one wheel and use the other 3 wheels to spin the car around. EDIT: this wouldn't work with a spool and I'm not sure how it would go with an auto locker. So you might have to run an open or airlocking diff for the sake of having cutting brakes. And as we all know cutting brakes aint a locker. |

Yeah, true, but that's the opposite to what I said above. Like locking off a back left wheel and using the other 3 to try spin around it with cutting brakes... So it would have power being put through it... |
