Has anyone fitted arb diff locks on a new jimny recently?
I can't find an earlier post on a fitting issue on the new model, the suzuki and ARB sales rep was a bit elusive with details on exactly what can be fitted.
Also, does anyone lease a jimny through a novated lease arrangement? Or any 4wd. If I understand correctly additional gear can be added for your car at the time of pick up at only one shop (ARB) and you pay "fringe benefit tax" instead of gst.
cheers

I had ARB fit a rear locker to my 2009 manual Jimny a few months ago.

On the leasing the same rules apply as with any vehicle. All accessories or modifications in this case become part of the capital cost of the vehicle and you pay FBT on the total value. GST is not applicable BUT you are paying FBT each year on the original purchase value of the car rather than GST just once. The real benefit in leasing is that the operational costs are GST exempt. You need to consder on a case by case basis whether leasing is good for you based on how you would otherwise finance the purchase and how many km per year you travel.

I have had a few leased cars but the best deal every time I looked at it was to just go and buy it outright if I already had the money in the bank. If you don't have the money in the bank then the calculations are more complex and it is no longer a no brainer.
