Post subject:  Random wiring fault (crushed wire/short or earth)???

Hey guys,
Went for a wheel on the weekend and this wiring fault crops up,First time its happened and ive checked the usual suspects (earths and fusing)Im not a complete electrical novice but this has me stumped....Ive googled the problem and found another bloke with a sierra with the same problem but he didnt mention the fix.im hopeing it may be one of those sierra things that someone knows about.I did crush the drivers side sill but fairly sure no wiring runs in it.
Car is 92 WT SWB soft top
The problem:

1. No stop/tail lights at all
2. High beam indicator light comes on when you hit the brakes
3. Stereo has stopped working (has its own earth direct to chassis and both wires still show 12v when tested)
4. Clock has a mind of its own
5. No dash lights

No wiring burning/sparks or anything suss like that just happened all at once.im sure its just an earth but any ideas on where?

Did the fuse fix the issue? Sounds like a lot of different systems for 1 fuse :?

That's some weird symptoms for a popped fuse, its possible you still have an issue (if you haven't already fixed it with the fuse) somewhere there, I would still be checking earths and main battery cable just in case (I know you already have).
You might find 12v and ground with no load but with load if you have some bad connections there will be a bit of resistance there, dragging the voltage down.

Replaced the fuse and all is good again,
By the sounds of it some of the stuff on that circuit will earth back through the wiring and cause some really strange things to happen,
Think I must of gave the tail lights a bit of a hit when I reversed into a rock must have causes the short and popped the fuse.

Have a look under the car near the fuel tank not sure if its just mine but there's a heap of joiners to concet the worig to the rear of the car... You might have a wire that's broken through and earthing out on the body you might have to drop the tank to get a good look.... Are you running led tail lights??? After market reverse light/s??
