Hey guys I'm just wondering how you'd disconnect all the tie rods eg. Drag link were it goes to the steering box? What tools do you use?

Thanks Jeremy

Pickle fork or ball joint splitter.

Remove the cotter pins, undo the castle nuts, but leave them on a few turns so that the bar does not drop, then hit the side of the knuckle arm with a hammer. this won't damage the tie rod ends, or the knuckle. The shock loading will release the tapered TRE's.

if you can get a 2nd hammer to the arm it will assist with the shock loading, hold one hammer on the arm & belt the shit out of the other side with the other hammer.

IMO the best bet is a ball joint splitter, load it up & it will usually go without much of a drama. if not give it a bit of a kiss with the hammer with the splitter on & they'll pop right off.

I have a air chisel powered tie rod splitter, easy and very fast.
