hey guys i tried a search but it wasn't much help iv ordered some 30mm springs and 30mm spacers and i have never used spacers before. 1: do they go on top of the spring or underneath or does it not really matter either way? 2: how are they held in place or do they just sit there? 3: any recommendation for bump stop extensions for 29.5" tyre with 60mm lift i was going to start of with a 30mm extension and go from there...? 4: some pics are always nice. 5: the springs i ordered are "king" and i have been anxiously waiting for them to arrive since i ordered them on friday and they have only been sent Today!! how fkn slack the spacers were sent on Monday not bloody happy |

In a Vitara coil spacers go on top of springs, they can't fall out from the top. 30mm spacer would be best with 30mm bump stop extension, so coil operates in same range as designed, in my opinion. On front that is only a 15mm spacer and bump stop because the spring is inboard.

On front that is only a 15mm spacer and bump stop because the spring is inboard. cheers mate. ill remember that on top so they just sit there? i wasn't planning to do the extension on the front as either my springs are too stiff or the sway bar is the front end does not go near touching the guard even standard height with 29.5" tyres  i dont know maybe because i couldn't flex it properly before with the rear end scrubbing and once i fix that and the rear end reaches full flex the front will start to move? i figured match the extension to the spacer to at least prevent over compression of the spring as it would cause sag over time the fact that u agreed gimes me some confidence in this if it still scrubs ill have to add more. wow looks like u have about 2.5" spacers |

Sway bar will prevent compression on front, yes. It may soften up, see how it goes. The spacer is a tight fit over the protrusion, so it will just sit there. I like to keep travel close to the engineers design, either Suzukis, or in my case Old Man Emu, its just moved. |

Will raise your vehicle by 30mm Front and Rear. 2 x Front 15mm AND 2 x Rear 30mm. there abouts, i reckon 50mm & 30-35mm for the front to get it sitting level as the spring isn't exactly 1/2 along the control arm... it's further out towards the balljoint, but in saying that i've never messed around with them. |

reference pic of the location of the spring seat on calmini arms & SV Vitara arms, the SE arms are slightly different but the spring sits in about the same spot from memory.

Disregarding height. spacers are identical front to rear only the rear are twice as thick  how do i put these on the front i undone the strut expecting the wishbone to just drop out of the way and to say the least it did not, will the wishbone drop further if i disconnect the front sway bar or will i need spring compressors? also is there an adjustment for the steering stops? i could not find 1 and i need to limit my steering lock to stop the tyres hitting the chassis on full lock. |

front sway and it you need more bottom ball joint is only 3 bolts steering look is on the pitman arm ?? |

Can't unbolt the ball joints on a sv as pictured above, you'll need to separate the ball joint from the taper if you can't get it by removing the swaybar. Steering stops are on the chassis & pitman arm. |

hey guys update coils and spacers fitted now sitting 2.5" higher also fitted 30mm bump stop extensions (in rear only) and flexed it up to check it at full compression and squashing the bump stop i have about half inch of clearance from my side lugs on tyre to the lip on the inner side of my wheel arch (29.5 x 9.5 standard rims and 2.5" lift and 30mm bump stop extensions) i also have about 2 foot of flex with standard shocks will go hunting for some shocks that are a little longer later on i think VL shocks will be too long and bottom out before my bump stops. pictures on my rig page: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=41421 |
