Hey guys I am so so almost done on my conversion but I have this sensor sticking out of my block
Image
and I don't see it on my wiring diagram.
it is a yellow with red chaser wire but seems to have gone to the cluster of the baleno, well it doesn't go to the ecu directly anyway like all the other sensors do.

Also I just want to have a bitch about the new water pump I got has a 5mm hole bored into the brand new housing straight down to the impeller wtf who designed it like that? it looks like its supposed to be there too.

anyway any ideas with the sensor would be awesome thanks chaps.

I don't remember that being on my Vit motor, so it might be something Baleno specific. Being right near the oil filter I'd guess at maybe oil pressure... but it's pure guess.

That looks like an oil pressure switch.

The hole on the water pump IS meant to be there. It's a weep/telltale hole, if you have coolant coming out of it the seal in the water pump is knackered.

Definately oil pressure sender. Off the top of my head can't recall if it goes to the ecu or just trips the check engine light?
