Well only 3-5 days ago my car started to not idle properly when driving what happens: I start my car and it idles about about 1000-1200 rpm (normal) I then drive out perfectly fine out of my drive way and drive off but when i stop at the traffic lights in 1st gear it will drop to about 400-800 rpm making the car shake just how it shakes before stalling I've also noticed that when i put my clutch in to change gears it rapidly drops example: 3000 rpm drops straight down to 1000 rpm I have played around with the air to fuel ratio screw (well i think its that) and the idling speed screw and it hasn't changed much other then the sitting idle. if you have had this problem before and you've fix it and you tell me how and photos would be excellent! any informations helps! thanks alot! |

The two screws your adjusting are both idle screws. One is for when the engine is cold and reduces when the choke comes off and the other is for when the engine is warm. The mixture screw is tamper proof and hidden a bit closer to the inlet manifold. Screw on trottle arm is for cold start adjustment and can only be adjusted when cold. You only can turn the screw when the engine is off. Start and note revs, turn off and lift up trottle arm to adjust. The screw closer to the front on same side is the warm idle. Warm the engine up and adjust this for desired idle. |
