Post subject:  Sunraysia - Price and Size
Getting some tryes tomorrow and looking at getting black sunraysias. Got white ones on at the moment and looks slightly gayish or hairdresser style. Was going to spray the white ones but honestly couldnt be stuffed. to much on over the next few weeks to have time for it.

Currents are 15x5.5 rim. What size should/can I go to? 15x7 ok on stock 1991 Zook Vitrara JLX? I am probably sticking with either a federal A/T a Grip Max AT a Hankook Muddie or Kumho AT. in most likely a 215/75/15

Might as well do them at the time of changing the tyres.

any help appreciated

IMO the best rim width would be the narrowest you can legally fit your tyres on. Narrower rim gives you less rotating mass and more pressure against the bead of the tyre.

In your case a 15x5.5" or 6" would be ideal. 6" will be great for 235/75 in the future. 7" is the maximum width for a 215 and really only necessary if you were running 31"s.

If found 7" rims at lower pressures (<12PSI) with 215s would get grit in the bead and cause slow leaks after most trips.

Down the track I intend to upgrade to 235 75R15's and all the research I have done on this site seems to suggest that these tyres should be run on 15x7 rims with -13 to -15 offset. :D
Maybe I should be looking at 6", but then the standard wheels are 5.5". With only 1/2" difference , might as well just stay with my current alloys. Armsup Armsup
