Hi guys, I'm going to start replacing my leaf springs, shocks and steering dampener (inc shackles, u-bolts, bushes etc) on my SJ413 wt tonight . I've replaced coilovers and regular springs before, but never leaf suspension, so I thought I'd just quickly ask if there's a certain order I should be replacing these parts in, or if there are any tricks or tips anyone has to make the process any smoother. Also, how long does this usually take? It looks like it'll be fairly straight forward, but my suzi is my daily, so I may need to line up another ride if it's gonna be a huge job. As always, thanks for your time and wealth of knowledge.

Hey mate its fairly easy swap one spring at a time dont take the whole diff off that makes it a little harder but yer support the diff with a jack/stand undo the u bolts and shackles and what not stick the new springs in and do the same again for the whole car and if they are lifted springs your better off leaving the sway bar out much easier and go for a decent drive enough then re torque ur u bolts I did mine in 4hrs by myself hope this makes sense and helps. |
