Hi y'all just wondering if anyone on this forum or a company that supports this forum builds sexy bullbars for sierras (kinda like the Irok ones) and also I'm in need of a set of extended brake lines. Any help would be appreciated. |

Any good hydraulic hose supplier will do ADR approved extended brake lines in braided or rubber for surprisingly little money. I don't know what an Irok bullbar is Steve. |

Thnx Steve a hydraulic shop would have been the last place I looked I'll drop in tomorrow and get em done. The Xroc looks sexy, so do the other custom tube bullbars getting around (better than slapping an ARB one on anyway) I'll check the business site for someone. |

Another vote for arb, I drive through central qld/nsw often, usually lots of late night and hit a lot of kamikaze roos. ARB protects the lights and stops em coming over the bonnet, I doubt those stubby low bars will. The same when it comes to pushing through trees. So if ya want a bull bar go ARB, if you want a pretty looking nudge bar/winch bar then have a look at low range and see what floats ya boat. |

Arb barwork is flimsy crap they wings bend easy they hang down to low and out to far the stupid plastic fog light and blinker holder smash when u hit a roo |

Alternatively, ARB barwork absorbs impact to prevent chassis damage, complies with ADR's, and offers a high strength to weight ratio. It's easy to make something stronger, but if all that's doing is transferring force into the chassis which bends it and totals the car, that's not really protected the vehicle. It's not for competition use, and it won't turn your car into an indestructible bulldozer. Horses for courses. It's plenty for most people. Personally, I think ARB get the compromise about right. I spent days and days making my bar, and it is stronger and has tighter clearances than an ARB bar, but it doesn't protect the car as well, is heavier, and won't fit the car without modifications to the chassis. That's typical of lots of comp type bars. After all that, most people think I just cut down an ARB bar. Steve. |

If you damage the impact section of a chassis you can just about wright the vehicle off. If the impact absorber of the bar takes the stress the chassis should be fine. Cheaper to wright off a bar and have the occupants protected than wright off a vehicle. Hanging down too low and out too far? These come down to ADR's and clearance needed for impact absorption. It is scary how many products out there would not meet guidelines. Want flimsy? Buy from Ironman or the EMG threesome. Last time I did a plastics spec there was no 'not to break whilst hitting a roo' type plastic available. I'm leaving the company and I don't really have to side with them. But you do get people who take this stuff seriously and not just to make a quick buck. Joe. |

Thnx all for the heads up an interesting thought as far as strength vs chassis bending is concerned. Might put some more thought into it. May even have a crack at one myself to find a happy medium. |
