Shep's on the money here, 2WD. Commodore motor suits cos it was $100 with loom and ecu, plus replacements are cheap for the inevitable melted pistons.... Diff strength shouldn't be an issue, its not Suzuki gear.
I'm more than happy to work the trans tunnel/firewall if necessary. I'm just hopping a can get the motor low enough and far enough back, with out causing issues with sump on diff clearance on the front. It may be 2wd but still needs a housing in the front.

holy shit... yeah racing's not my thing. But around here every thursday night heaps of P platers have lap night. they basically drive up and down the main highway through Rockhampton from about sunset, and some go all the way to midnight. being public roads its not done as a race or fast because theres always cops with speed cameras, but everyone likes to race 0-60 or 0-70 which is the limit depending on the exact location. i did it once, got bored after about 5 minutes. but people seem to love it, particularly P platers with commodores.
