Hey guys, I need some help with my gti conversion. I have a gti mk2 and am half way through putting it into my sj70 sierra. I have most of it done, I just need to sort out the ignition side. Are you able to use the sierra sound suppressor in place of the gti one? As my loom did not come with the gti one. Also, I have the ignition module but no plug to plug it into. So I will need to wire it up from scratch. So is anyone able to tell me which terminals (on the ignition module) the brown/yellow, the brown/white and the black wires go? Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

I have tried but no luck. I think I will be able to work it out once I find out what wire goes where for the ignitor. I have noticed that the three terminals are labelled "IB" "G" and "OC" on the ignitor any idea where each goes? Or even a photo would be a great help. Thanks heaps

The suppressor will be OK.
I can't find any reference on the schematic but IG is the ignition signal from the ECU; I'm 99% certain that G is ground and OC = Open collector which would go to the coil.

Still no spark. Crank angle is working because the fuel pump cuts in when I turn the motor over by hand. I have the brown wire (a12) spliced into the brown wire on the noise suppressor. The brown/ yellow wire ( c6 I think) to the "IB" terminal in the ignitor. And I have the negative wire from the coil going to both the brown/ white wire on the noise suppressor and the "OC" terminal. Is this right? And does the coil earth through the ignitor?

That sounds about right. This is the schematic for a 1999 GTi:

Thanks mate. Pretty sure I got that right. I got a pulse going from the computer to the ignitor (brown/ yellow) but the ignitor isn't turning the coil on and off. So that means the ignitor is no good?
