| Post subject: | NT transfer case into a coily |
Hi all, we are hoping for some help as we are stuck halfway through our transfer case swap! We own a coily and are putting 30" tyres on it so we bought a switched 1L transfer case. It already has WT flanges on it. We also have the WT mounting arms and jackshaft. However we can't seem to get the transfer case to line up properly with the mounts...the angle seems wrong. Should this fit? Any ideas what we ate doing wrong? The gearshift stick seems to be at the wrong angle too. And do we also need a WT front driveshaft or not? Any help would be much appreciated! |

Get a picture of what you're having issues with. Are you trying to make 1l mounts work on a coily? |

I thought you were supposed to use the Coily mounting arms? |

Pretty sure you need the WT/NT transfer arm that has the single mount as well, it's a Coily thing From memory, I could be wrong

Heres the two side by side. I swapped the yokes, unis, jackshaft, 4wd light and lifted it up into place by a jack without the stick in the top. What side out of the two mounts isnt lining up? |

Hi all, thanks for the help...we have had success! We ended up using one of the WT mounts/mounting arms as the coily passenger side one is different (I think the driver's side one is a fraction different but very similar so just used the coily one)...not sure if the NT mounts are different to WT or not, didn't have them at all. Also used the WT front driveshaft (the coily one seemed too tight) and WT jackshaft. Turns out that the main problem was that when we bought the transfer case it had just been rebuilt, and the gear stick had been put back in 180 degrees off haha, so it was preventing us getting the correct angle to line up with the mounts properly. It was hard to tell just looking at the case that the stick was wrong. Pretty frustrating but so glad it's done! Thanks again for the help. Now its time to go test our new gearing and new 30" tyres!! |
