There was a discussion on this a few years back. Most truck tyres use them (at least on the steer axles) but I'm not sure how good they'd be for a road car/small 4wd tyre. Give it a go and let us know |

all the sales "crap" state that even motorbikes and scooters benefit from them. For ~$60 I think I'll give them a go |

Rema Tip top sell them. Remember, you only need about 50 grams maximum per tyre. In a zook, prolly 40 grams would be enough. And if you get them wet, they wont work very well. |

yeah, but you can buy filtered valve cores. In fact you should use them, regardless if you let yer tyres down or not. |

I'll add some input here. When I bought my walker evans wheels, the previous owner was running auto balance powder/beads in the 37 12.5 Creepy Krawlers he had on the rims. In an off road situation with low tyre pressure, the inner bead can (and does) lift off the tyre from time to time. In extreme cases, this can lead to a burp, but not always. this partial unseating can result in powder/beads getting trapped under the inner bead. In the case of my walkers, it was virtually impossible to unseat the inner bead as the powder formed a wedge between the tyre and wheel that jammed the tyre on. He's not running it on his new rims/tyres as a result. He tried about 6 different tyre shops before he found someone who could break the bead. Steve. |

wear shouldn't unbalance a tyre, cos its spinning, so the wear would be self balancing in itself. Lost weights are a chance at happening, but i've only ever lost a weight once - and it was because i smashed it off on some rocks (actually, i bent it off). But even still it was only a 20g weight. Didnt even notice it missing on the road but had it replaced anyway. If its about aesthetics - i paint my wheel weights black to match my rims and you hardly notice they're there. |

Can you use the stick on ones instead? I ran the stick-on ones when i had simex's cos they were so out of balance... needed 300g in one spot, so piled up a bunch of the stick on weights and they never budged. |

I run balance beads in all my truck tyres, it is great in truck/light truck tyres and likely 4x4 tyres tyres. anything that requires a lot of weights to balance. as for tyre removal we have never had an issue, but steve has told me before about his crawler and alloy beadlock issues,this could possibly be due to very low pressures and perhaps alloy corrosion inside the wheel too. I cant really see any point in using it in car type radials or motorcycle tyres as the rarely need much weight and the tyres are generally much better made/balanced from new |

I ran golf balls in my old steel beadlocks, it worked better than nothing.. they were only in for a few thousand kms.. they came out smooth.. From what I have read they can cause damage to the inside of the tyre after awhile.. but for my old bush wheels they got me to the tracks just fine |

Steve how big were the balls? i have herd nothing but good things up till now! i'm going to run them in my swampers as there hard to balacne with the sikaflex round the beads. |
