Does anyone have info about the rear interior light plugs.

Ive got a door switch from suzistore, works with the jimny rear door

Ive found one plug with three wires, one is ground, one is permanent live and another sets off the front lights when grounded

Then there is a single plug with one wire, that when grounded, sets the front light off aswell

I can run off the live through my light to the switch but this will only light when the rear door is opened. But i was wanting to try get it so when any door is opened, all lights will operate, same on the door switch

If anyones interested, i just ran power off the white lead from the plug with three wires coming from it then to the lights positive then to a jimny door switch for the ground. The door switch is in the rear and is the same as the door ones

just got some then, literally the difference is night and day, wish i had have worked a wire up to the door switches now as it makes such a difference. hard part is i have to unplug a harness, remove the barrier and remove the floor. youll see once i get the pics up.

do you know a good uploader? imageshack has gone all money orientated now

actually, just remembered i ran a positive and negative from the rear to the cargo barrier, so if i plug a wire to both doors from earth, that should set the rear light off. but when the rears opened, the front wont go off, unless i use the middle wire from the three wire plug to the rear switch. think i just worked how i could work it all in, doh.

anywho heres the good stuff first two are iphone sorry, the small single wire plug also sets off the front light.
the bigger plug as seen in the background starts with the white wire to the right, thats allways live, middle sets off the front light when earthed and the left one is earth.

i have plans for a small strip in the centre top part of the cargo barrier where the two box tubes come upwards and meet at the top bar. just then i also had a thought to maybe put some under the front lip of the false floor too as there is a small void where i will be hiding things and thought it may look cool.

looks really good! I think if i did this myself I would want the switch on the front interior light to also control the rear light...
auto = both lights on, on = both on regardless of door, off = both off.... Sounds painful to get the wires run though :(

Yeh that was what bugged me!!! Still does. Would be a perfect world for the plug to work. Somehow i think it should, looks like the plans were there for a light, possibly even for one that has the door, on and off switch going off the wires.

I ran the lights to the ground on the plug, but it was allways on, when i used the wire with the front door seitch, it severely dulled all the lights

Yeah that's fair enough, I ended up putting some leds under the edging of the rear door which are really meant for camping with the door open but i guess could also be used as an interior light (turned on with a switch in the rear of car)...

I ended up getting an LED UFO light and mounted it to the roof with some super sticky velcro which seems to have worked fairly well :P

I picked up an interior light from eBay for about $15, ran a cable tie through it and two holes in the ceiling lining, which pulled it nice and tight. Then simply ran to constant power and earth. So it needs to be switched on manually every time you need it, but that is much easier than shuffling through the dark every night.
