Hey All! Had Rego tell me I have too much play in the front wheels on my '90 Vitara. This is after I had the wheels bearings replaced, cleaned everything and re-greased. Went from tapered roller bearings to ball bearings (cylindrical in shape). Is there anything else that I should be looking at that might be causing this issue, before I throw in the towel and go to a mechanic? |

Play at wheels, or play at steering wheel? Look at your idler arm/bush (opposite end to the steering box) |

everything from the pitman arm to wheel bearings & everything in between can cause play. surely if the rego checks are that thorough they'd be able to tell you where the problem is? i guess that's one of the good things about living in SA, no rego inspections. |

Not sure my perils were of much concern. SA sounds like the bees knees! Can we adopt your laws please? |
