I was having a look at this http://www.rhinorack.com.au/products/ro ... small_rpbs for the jimny. Would be good for aerodynamics and can still easily tie a swag on, thoughts??

I wouldn't say "good". using rope to tie your swag to the spare Tyre on the boot would be better for aero then this.
but if you want a roof rack, then yes.
may allso want to thing about a cargo net inside the car to suspend things from the roof. will also keep your swag a bit dryer.

i have a question where do they fix the tabs too and is it a pain in the ass to do it

Hmmm, yeah I get what you're saying. I was looking at this because I wanted a roof rack but don't like the look of a roof basket. Hmmm it's so hard making car decisions...
