hi guys just looking for some help i know SJ80 transfer case can be swapped with the earlier models, does it matter what one though? i have a 86 LWB tcase lined up will this fit? oh just while im at it too the other day before a trip out bush i noticed that a winding noise has started when driving, it only occurs when i put the foot down and sounds like its just shaft vibrations but im hopeless with cars as im still learning a lot anyone got any ideas? rear diff has a bit of play and so do all the unis could this be doing it? |

First of all you need the jack shaft from the car that the transfer case is from. I'm am however unsure if a LWB transfer is the same as a SWB? Some else may be able to help you with that. Also was the car in low range |

okay does that mean the case should be fine i just might run into problems with the gear? (ie shafts and mounts) and no the noise was in all ranges 2h 4h and 4l, it was louder in 2nd,3rd and 4th gear aswell |

Yes, whine could be the diff, any play in unis is a bad sign. Remember too that gear drive transfer cases are louder than the coil case (chain drive) which is why suzuki went to chain drive in the first place. |

Hey Jason currently swapping to a WT transfer so will let you know what else you need. At this stage I only have the case, the jack shaft and mount from a WT still havnt been able to find out if I need the front drive shaft too |

You can use the original front and rear drive shafts. Check that all your flanges are matching. |

Yep all fits with just the jack shaft. Changer is on some bizarre angle but that's maybe because my transfer was used in a jimny. So I may need to cut the floor |

Car will not idle once hot!!! Breaks down every set of lights! Would the hot air intake have anything to do with it or is it time for a carb rebuild? So frustrating |

Found a holly carb for sale but all aftermarket carbs seems very badly reviewed and hard to tune |

Yea honestly I would probably do the swap but just really need this on the road for the next couple of months. If I get a company car (hopefully next month) ill do it Yea mate all checked, it runs perfectly across the range except idle when hot. And now my bloody speedo has stopped working haha! So frustrating |
