Just because someone has done it doesn't make it right.

pics are what has started this craze.

A 20inch lightbar isnt too difficult to find a good spot for. So while people may well love drilling holes into a perfectly good bonnet to fit a lightbar, I prefer the front bar as you dont get glare from it and it isnt in your field of vision while driving.

From the horses mouth.

Mount the bar on the bullbar or bumper.

i just put LEDs on the front of mine.. granted they're not crazy expensive fancy units... they're cheap ebay ones that are 90* flood 18w 4500k.

They sure don't go has far as the 100w halogen floods i used to have on the front, but they put out a way more even light over the immediate area and flood much wider (especially as i've set them slightly "cross eyed").

i just did a little test in the driveway - and if i set my little lights above at 45* inwards towards each other they light up beyond 180 degrees to the front grille and still throw a ton of light forward. Looks stupid, but its super impressive.

I think 20m is more accurate than 30m.. but i didn't buy them for distance, and at $40 for the pair delivered i can't argue with the price.

Instead of starting a new thread id thought id just ask here. I have 2x12inch light bars mounted on the front of my roof basket with no permanent wiring to the rough(i just run some stick on duct up the side of the window when I use the roof basket) I have been thinking about mounting them to the top of the side bars of my bull. Where i have them mounted now i get a small amount of glare off the bonnet so they either need to get mounted lower/further back on the roof basket or on the bullbar. either way ive gotta remount so figure its a good time to make the call. thanks.
