Hi guys, I found a couple of tuning chips on amazon for the M13A and was just wondering what people thought of them? From what i have read the chips trick the ECU into thinking the Air intake temp is significantly lower than it actually is... Allowing for up to a 15% power increase... hmm soo maybe and M15 conversion would do better  I have struggled to find any that are made after 2009 and would meet euro 4 emission standards

Mike Hey all the M15A's I have looked at seem to be prior to 2009 from wrecked Suzuki Swifts and are ~ $550... problem is prior to 2009 they are only euro 3 emissions standard I have read... My car is 2013 model so it needs the newer engine... I have heard the M16A vvt is only euro 3? Just for fun I put a multiple-turn pot on the air intake sensor of my Jimny and dialled in -15deg C below ambient air temps, then using the OBD Torque app I did some logging of the timing vs. revs but didn't see any advance in the timing, I didn't notice any improvement at all when driving it around (with a Jimny if you get a 5% increase in HP its very noticeable). |

Mike I'm under the opinion the difference in the M series engines between the emission standards (ie. euro 3/4) was the addition of things like the precat on the exhaust header and maybe the tune of the ECU, and not really any changes internally to the motor (I might be wrong though). |

That makes sense, the Suzuki ECUs that I've looked at only have any IAT correction for the ignition at very low or very high temperatures. On the earlier Jimnys you could replace the ignition trim resistor but the timing is fixed on the later engines. |
