Post subject:  Headlight Adjustment

I've got an SV420 Vitara and one of my headlights is pointing up in the trees, I can't find the headlight adjustment screws and they aren't shown in the manual. Does anyone know where they are? Do I have to remove the airbox to get to them?

they're normally behind the headlight... do a search on youtube to see how its done on modern cars (most are quite similar).

BEFORE you touch the adjustment - make sure the globe is properly seated in the headlamp housing.

The adjustment doesn't shift by itself and very few people fiddle with them, so to have it that far out that it's pointing up into the trees is kind of rare, unless the vehicle has been in an accident - on the other hand - it is possible to replace a globe and because of the limited space to get it at an angle.

A few years back I bought a Pajero and one headlight was pointing "up into the trees", so I started tweaking the adjustment (I am anal about headlight alignment) and at the limit of the adjustment I still could not get the light where it should be - that's when I started to look for other causes and guess what I found ...

The globe problem is really common, I've struck it a number of times.
