what size? factory says 20psi, you can even go lower on bigger tyres but they get a bit squishy

I reckon would be fine if you want to check, set your pressures cold and go for a decent drive to get the tyres warm and recheck the pressure, if its risem more than 2psi they were too low, if they havent risen 2 psi they could be too high, if its risen 2psi it about spot on

I do believe the tyre place that put them on the rims left them too high. I haven't checked yet, but I think he said he left them at 31. Mind you, he was a dodgy lookin old codger and his silly lookin offsider looked like he'd been kicked off the pension and put on a work-for-the-dole scheme. Needless to say, neither of them gave me much confidence. Since then, it's been somewhat bouncy on the blacktop, but thought it might be stiff suspension (aftermarket Bilsteins). |

Whilst normally I have a lot of time for older folk (most of my mates have 5 to 10 years on me), these blokes looked way dodgy. I've just confirmed this after returning from the servo (no air compressor here). Front right had 42psi, rear right 40, front left 37 and rear left 36!! I took them all down to 25 for now. The ride is easily more comfortable. I might take them down to 20 and try Royce's suggested method when I'm about to go for a decent drive. |

25 will be fine just take note when cornering if it feels to wallow / very shongy you may need to go up to 28. At rest, stand along side the back tyre and rock the car and look at the sidewall if it tends to move around between the rim and the ground then you may need more air to keep this from happening. As Royce says 20 is a good PSI for most with sierra's but it will depend on the sidewall construction of the tyres you have on your car. Calula's Vit S/Top we ran them at 28-30psi and 32 with 4 in the car and the wear was good and the Fuel Economy was great. Low PSI will affect your Fuel bill. |

What are the hankooks like off and on road. Trying to make my mind up between them and maxxis 753's. Been pushed towards maxxis because of the light truck construction. |

keep in mind at that pressure 2 tyres could comfortably support the weight of even a vit wagon, 30 psi especially in slightly bigger tyres would be like having 50 in your falcon tyres, who would do that? one day we need to get some cars together and test em for cornering, braking and fuel consumption with different tyres and pressures and see what happens |

I'm not the best to answer that. I;ve only had the vehicle for a few weeks, and even then I'm no expert either on or off road. I've only been off-road once, and they seemed to perform fine. On the bitumen, they are fairly quiet for MTs, and seem to brake and handle alright. |

PM Rob macc67 . He has a LWB 93 Vit with Hankook MT03 's 215/75 on 5.5 rims. He watches his pressures and fuel economy closely so it'll be worth speaking to him . I think he gets on here occassionally , but diffinitly the NBS forum. zuk94 |
