04 GV V6 5 Door.

Firstly, the car is silver and Im considering painting rims and bull bar black. Any opinions? I only found one other GV on here that has similar and it looks good.

I need new tyres. I would like some AT's and judging on some posts, 225/70/r16 are recommended. The only thing that worries me is it adds another 4kmph at 100... Is there any better suited sizes? For reference, Im a casual 4X4 driver and will not be doing any mud.

As for brand, Im looking at this website which I've use previously:

Can anyone recommend a better size, brand or place to purchase?

Search the tyre thread for info on tyre bands tread size ect.

On our GV are this tyre in 235/70R16 size.
have dobinsons lifted springs/shocks fitted and am using a speedohealer (30mins to fit and 2 mins to program)
Front tyres rub on chassis at rear when at full lock but not significantly.
No mods to body/plastics and haven't seen anywhere else the tyres rub but we don't wheel as hard as some on the forum so YMMV.
Found them a pretty good allround tyre so long as you consider tyre pressures, wearing quite well also. I'd be guessing if I said how long they will last but going by wear at the moment I think 80k kms should be achievable, maybe more
Ours is an auto and we don't gun it all that often so don't feel much power loss, but in a manual I think you may.

Speedohealer. Had it left over from a Suzuki motorbike so cut the plugs off and wired it into the car near the speed sensor at the gearbox. Wiring comes up through the floor and the unit hides under the centre console out of site.

So my placard has 235/60r16

I am looking at 225/70r16

I am looking BF K0 AT... They are on special at Bob Janes for $175.
I called up and he said that its illegal to fit and you wont get insured. Is that correct?
He also recommended more expensive Bridgestones and said BF is to much of an aggressive tyre.

I only want to do light occasional 4x4. Is BF a good recommendation and is the size im looking for correct?

Not sure where you are located but in Qld at least there would be nothing wrong with that tyre size change. That said, you can get the KO TA in the 235/70R16 which will be 47mm taller than stock and you will retain the stock width. This would be a legal tyre upgrade in Qld, unsure of other state laws.
