Hi all,

Took my '92 SWB out for it's first proper test and i was pleasantly surprised at the results !!!
The only issue i found was that the body cut into the back tyres at full flex ? I have 31" muddies, 2 ' suspesion life and 2" body lift on. The previous owner said that the suspension lift was 2", but after checking the serial numbers on the springs and shocks it seems like the springs are just 30mm and the Ultima shocks looks like a straight replacement for the standard ones.

Can anybody give some advice on a cost effective yet simple solution to rectify this problem please ?

Bumpstop spacers. space the bumpstop the appropriate amount so your tyres will clear.

Alternatively, if you dont care about the body, hammer back the seam on the inside of the wheel arch that is cutting into the tyres.

Even if you do care about the body the above suggestion is still a must , just do it carefully and gradually and there shouldn't be to much of a problem .

I have no issues hammering the seam, but i have some rubber flairs that i have pop riveted to the seam.
Can i just get some extension brackets for the shocks ?

Get more correct offset
I run 32"s with minimal guard massaging

Where abouts is the body hitting
Back of door =longer arms or cutting will fix
Bumper =only cutting will fix
Top of guard. 10p rims will clear the guard if the lip is folded up back onto it self. U might need to hit the inner guard in a bit of it rubs. I used a slege hammer and a 2x4 to work it in a bit on my lwb.
Shocks or springs have no affect on tire clearence.
If your tires hang way out the guards and hit still i will need bumpstop spacer or cut the guard and weld a strip back in to fill the gap

I bought the vehicle with brand new rims and tyres so no point in replacing them now.
It is hitting the top of the guard at full flex. Will bump stops limit my travel ?
Looks like i will have to modify it some how and just make a plan to put the rubber flares back on then.

I used the rubber flairs that screw from the side not to the under side of the lip
Bump stop spacer will loss some travel but will let u run longer shocks or shock relocation bracket if your coils are not to short
U can cut the guards out if u want

I also found some at Clark Rubber today, but they are between $27 - $37/m. Will check out Ebay as well
