Having read through this post (viewtopic.php?f=17&t=18955=) on the steps for RUF, it doesn't really sound any much easier from a fabrication point of view.
I think I'd rather the challenge of somehow getting the sump right that changing the spring mount points on the chassis.
If was going to do that, I'd probably go for option 1 as 2stroker had put it, moving both front spring mounts slightly further apart and keeping the front axle in the original position.
Are there any votes for simply using either the LROR or RockyRoad RUF kits?
Sounds easier.

U can use efs lwb hd 65mm rear springs without the need for cutting and welding. Should still give enough clearance

It seems then all I really for the diff to clear the GV sump (which I already have BTW) is around 25mm more spring lift, along with 25mm more BS spacing to prevent the axle actually using the increase in available range of motion.
If that logic is correct, could I not just purchase the EFS 65mm front lift kit and avoid any meddling with the spring mounts?

Ruf is rears up front. You need the rear hd lwb 65mm springs and you will need to play with the springpacks so its not super stiff (mix new and old) as well as shock measure to suit, possible 20mm tailshaft spacer.
Its still quite involved but the ride quality and flex that can be acheived makes it worth it in my opinion

Mmmm... sounds complicated.
I still don't understand why it has to be rear springs in the front to achieve the required height.
As you have probably gathered fabrication work is not something I'm skilled in so I'm trying to avoid it as much as possible.

Its not the height you are trying to acheive its moving the diff forward (with a longer spring) so it doesnt go through the sump. Simply adding lift to clear will result in a terrible ride.
My lwb would have been lucky to have 1.5" lift on 32"s with the ruf.
Sounds like you need to pay a competent fab shop some $$$ to do the sump or your going to cost yourself more $$$ in the long run

Yes, it's a hard decision.
I like the idea of a ready to go leak free sump, but the fabrication side of RUF sounds challenging, though you've sparked my interest in it.
The method you were talking about - of running EFS lwb 65mm rear lifted springs in the front - would that be simplest method of achieving a RUF setup?

Yes but they are hd lwb 65mm rears normal 65mm wont work
Its the only bolt on option and u will need extended shackles but they sit on a 45* angle so you wont gain much height if any

I appreciate your interest in my build btw Mr. Rocky.
I'm in no hurry to finish it now that I've allowed the rego to lapse.
I figured I'd wait until mid 2020 to re-register as by then it will eligible for club registration here in Victoria which will save me a packet each year in rego fees.
I'm also taking it slow as I'm pretty much broke at the moment.

I'm doing a rough costing for RUF:

2 x EFS rear LWB HD 65mm lift leaf springs : $250
2 x extended shackles: $180
Shocks to suit (assuming the OME shocks I have will not be adequate) : ? $300
Tail-shaft spacer: no idea :?:

And just remind what the advantage of this setup will be other than that I can use the GV/X-90 sump?

A sump that wont leak for all eternity and a front suspension setup that will provide a level of comfort and flex you should probably aspire to anyway if its a car you intend on keeping in the long run.
That being said you could simply just get a shop to weld up your sump for less cost and less effort
