Think I'm gunna just pay the hundred so I can see everything on here again How does this work - YOU pay $100 so you can post and I see it, or YOU pay $100 to see what I posted over the last decade? You make it sound like it's the second scenario - I tell you what - if it's not the second scenario, send me the $100 and I'll tell you about the Chrome plug-in that bypasses the photobucket crap - or - you can find the other photobucket thread on here, which will give you a link to the plugin and buy $100 worth of beer.

At least by uploading direct to the forum doesnt give photobucket the chance to ruin the pics in every single thread for a second time

Photobucket wasn’t going to get any of my money after what they pulled, and I made sure there was no chance they would earn advertising revenue from photos on their “service”- so I shut my account.
Yes, it’s ruined the internet. That was inevitable. From that point on the only thing we have left is to ensure their income stream is minimised.
Find another (paid) hosting site.
Sorry to shep, but I won’t host directly on a free forum. Been through that before.

Why not? What was the issue?

Every forum I’ve used has had all their photos dissapear at some point. That was the reason we were all using hosting sites in the first place.

Fair enough, hopefully we back up often enough to recover everything if there is a problem

That’s not the problem. Let’s say you loose interest, can’t find a buyer, or the cost of hosting goes through the roof etc. there’s many reasons why it might happen, but I’ve had it happen too many times now.

You can often get around photobucket nuking images on forums by installing an add-on to your browser. For instance, I use FireFox and installed the add-on "Photobucket Embedded Image Fix 0.6" and voila, many if not all images appear on posts. This is the url to the add on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... r/?src=api

Sorry to shep, but I won’t host directly on a free forum. Been through that before. I agree with this. It was a very stupid approach, if they asked for small increments on a subscription based most people would have kept on using them. Most people would have understood they need to start charging and accepted it noting that they had years of free service. It was the way they tried to hold the internet to ransom with the large buy in that pissed everyone off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I seriously considered keeping my account open and making a 5 or 10mb image that just had text saying “Fuck Photobucket”. Then copying it as many times as possible to take up all of the available storage for my account, just to keep their servers clogged up.
But in the end I took Steve’s approach, delete everything.

Yep. The workarounds people are using will eventually fail. I wanted no possibility they would make any income from advertising etc when people viewed my images.

Would you reupload using Imgur or directly to the forum Steve? Because there are some things you've posted that I'd like to see and I'm sure others would too.

So I just deleted all my photos (one at a time) but how do you remove your account?
