Post subject:  Diff's: Sierra centre in a GV

In the process of fitting a rear sierra 4 pin centre to my steel GV front housing with an auto locker.

The last piece of the puzzle is that the GV crownwheel doesn't hold the cross pins captive (see photo) and being able to slide about the will eat the pinion gear for lunch....

besides cable ties, duct tape and superglue... has anyone got some simple(cheap) ideas for us?

Heat shrink or MTB tube

Take the bearing end cap off and drill and tap a hole from that face down to the pin and put a grub screw in it. Also dimple the cross pin shafts so the grub screw bites into it but doesn't burr it.

Yep. I wouldn’t be trusting heatshrink or rubber.

I believe this is what this product from trail tough is for as another option.

Start using american terms of tracker and samurai and you end up with more results.

Easy write up with pictures for those searching later.

Other options - with postage and current exchange close to $100 landed. Will suss getting a couple made, be borderline not worth the hassle though.
My 5.12 crown wheel's and Sierra centres showed up today. So I have spares I can experiment with.
