Hi all,
I have an SJ410 LWB that has the f10a engine. I have just recoed the engine and looking at putting a turbo on it with throttle body injection.
Has anyone here already done this?
If so, what injection and turbo did you use?
On a side note I want to update the 4 speed to a 5 speed and have been told the bell housing from the g13 engine differs from the f10. What type of transmission could I use?
Cheers,
Mike.

Quite a few people have turbo'd F10as. I've never heard of anyone having a problem with it, the most powerful one I've heard of made around 150hp (can't remember exact numbers) at the wheels in a carry van with a GT2860 in Perth.
Just off the top of my head, turbos I've heard of people running on them, aside from the above. The first 2 come in a billion variations and are a bit large but most people turboing these are tight arses and those are cheap and easy to get. TF035 T25 RHB31 (too small, really) CT9
It depends on your aims but for more modern stuff a GT1241 or GT1545 maps well for the F10a.
Most people turboing 1ls use carbys. A few have made custom MPFI manifolds. MRW82 (AZ member) adapted the Suzuki 1.3l TBI setup to the standard F10a manifold (N/A). Personally I'd look at adapting a motorbike TBI and running it with some sort of after market computer.
Out of interest back in the early 1980s Phil Ward / Turbosport in Sydney offered turbo 1L Sierras. These were new cars converted to turbo. They had a IHI turbo running 9 psi blowing through the standard carb. Unfortunately they were more than twice the price of a standard Sierra.
The 5 speed is relatively straight forward to build. You need the gearbox and flywheel from an 11/1984 onwards SJ40 or maruti and a 1.3l sierra gearbox. You transfer the internals of the 1.3l gearbox into the 1l casings. You also keep the 1l input shaft. If yours is a steel dash 1l there are some minor mods to fit this gearbox, you'l need a 1.3l jackshaft and the shifter boot/surround will help too. There's many threads on this subject.

One more thing, will the stock bottom end cope with 5 psi? The rods seem quite small

Sorry ro hijac this thread, I purchased a 5spd to suit a sj410 some time ago, I havnt fitted it yet, has any body done this conversion? It's a 5spd out of an imported suzuki van. I don't think the standard sj410 would have the balls to use 5th gear??
