I've got a 2001 jimny with no roof rails or studs. Would like to get roof racks and only option I've found is a Rhino trackmount. Don't want to drill into roof as leakage!
TIA

There is no magic to be had. They don't make super glue, Velcro or double sided tape strong enough. Holes in the roof it has to be. Rgs, Michael

Rgs, Michael This X10 There is technically some glues strong enough, as many new cars (generally aluminum ones) use glue instead of welds throughout the chassis. They have actually done destructive tests on them and they are stronger than welded alternatives. However achieving holes in the roof with no leaks is far less complicated and expensive. Could you use nutserts instead of rivets?

Rivets get supplied with some / many of the track kits. IMO the rivets / nutserts / rivnuts don't spread the load far enough around the hole they are in. If you are doing this, the best (but not the easiest, quickest or cleanest) way, is to remove the headlining, get some M6 x 12-15mm bolts, nyloc nuts & 25mm+ O.D. panel washers, a tube of windscreen sealing / bonding mastic & away you go. The holes in the tracks may need opening out. The holes and bolts may need to be countersunk (S/S in-hex machine screws) to clear the underside of the cross bars as they slide in the rails. The result should last the life of the vehicle, not leak, not tear out (assuming you stick to the kits load rating) - effectively set & forget. Rgs, Michael

I had Rhino track mount racks on my LWB Vitara. Drill your holes and put down some silicone around the holes before you put down the track and rivet. I had no leaks or strength problems.
My jimny also has the same roof racks. No issues. They’re a great low profile rack setup in my opinion.
