Hey everyone,

I have a bit of a set-up that I'm planning out for my 2004 Jimny but I'm unsure if part of it is actually do-able... looking for some opinions or ideas on how it could work if it's possible.

I want to change the rear door from just opening it's usual 90 degrees to a 180 degree opening... like what a lot of transport vans have (images included for reference).

Would it be possible to do? And could it be as simple as utilising the hinges from a van to achieve it?

Anything is possible, but it will take some funky hinges and some serious engineering work to achieve.

I will have another look, but I think if you remove the “stop bar” in the hinge it should work somewhat but not sure why you would want. There is plenty of loading room with the stock door setup.
