Post subject:  Transmission warning light on speedo cluster flashes

Hi guys

I have owned a JT Grand Vitara V6 petrol now since X-mas 2016 and have seen the "N" warning light and the L4 indicator warning light come up three times now while driving ...... first time was maybe 8 or so months ago, it flashed on for maybe a second or so then went off again.

Then flashed up twice in a matter of 4 hours driving last weekend, each flash lasting maybe a second or so then going back off again.

I had an auto die in a previous 4x4 and that cost me $5,000 so I'm a little parnoid to say the least now.

Any one else had this issue ? Is it a dodgy faulty wire or sensor or is it the tell tail early warning signs that this auto is starting to play up now too ...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Details of car - 153,000 k's - regularly serviced as part of the buying warranty when purchased second hand with 123,000 on the clock. Don't think the auto has been done though, could be wrong......

Cheers

Several years ago two of my children reported seeing something similar on the JB we have, I've not noticed it myself, and we've had no issues with it - I don't know if it stopped happening/is still happening, it has not been mentioned for quite some time.

As you can probably tell, I'm not too bothered about it.

One last thing - the lights you're seeing are transfer case related, rather than transmission - the transmission & the transfer case are actually two separate things, bolted together, but still separate entities.
