Hello!! Im about to start making a set of rear drawers up for the back of my 1991 WT. Im just wondering what most people out there do to make the structure?? I've seen that alot of people use aluminium to make the frame up, but just wondering if wood would be strong enough?? Thanks lots :)

when i was making mine thats what i had trouble with so i ended up getting a frame mad up, but if u used 12mm ply and joined it all properly it should be strong, iv seen a few mad out off all ply wood and thay seemed fine.

cheers scott

im not entirely sure wat sort of wood i used but me and my dad made mine this is wat it looks like and everyday driving round i have the subs in there and when i go wheeling i have my spare in there instead so its had a bit of weight in there and its still holding up quite nicely.

I made mine out of 12mm ply, when i went in the naracoorte competition i just took it out so it didnt get full of water and mud. which was lucky coz i had mud swirling around in the back
No need for rollers/sliders, made them a snug fit and a bit of candle wax on the bottom to help slide

Wood is for swedish furniture and boats. It's probably easier to work with but I reckon aluminium would make a better set of drawers.
