Assuming 35A@12V 35Amps output @ Alternator 2x 60W h/b headlights = 120W = 10A 6x 5W (approx) park/tail/plate lights = 30W = 2.5A Dashlights & Instruments 12W (Approx) = 1A Ignition coil - No idea? 60W = 5A? UHF - 5-15W? = 0.4-1.25A? Stereo - 20-60W? = 1.6-5A? 2x 130W spots = 260W = 21A There is a constant load of 18.5A normally at night. + A reasonable nominal accessory load of about 3A (+ intermittent load up to 6-7A) + 21A of spotlights. =42.5A = discharging battery by 7.5A. I'm guessing a typical Sierra battery is about 30-35A/H, resulting in a near flat battery after 4 hours (less if running fan/wipers/brakes/uhf transmit/really loud stereo). IMO, Install your spotties, but don't use constantly. |
