can anyone explain the method and the theory behind the cig locker diff(welded cogs), is it worth the trouble will it be a pain in the arse and how is it done(pinions? crown? or planetary?)is there a file web site ect with pics? cheers. |

all the plantery gears are welded together/ to the hemisphere heaps of people try and they dont last, I had one that did and did the sums on tire wear (31" MTR's) and long term it was the same money to buy an airlocker there is a bit of info on the net, google samurai lincoln locker or similar |

i've had mine welded for almost a yr, its had heaps of road use. on the a/t's wear wasn't to bad but on the m/t's it is noticable. its not my drive car anymore so its fine for my situation. i gave my local mechanic a carton of xxxx to do it. |

quazi, if you have the money, get auto lockers, if you have lots of money get air lockers. But i'd wait till you get stuck a lot before worrying about that stuff. Just have fun driving it for a while

here's a thread from the general chat area about lockers, front and rear. It's a never ending debate, and no one has any proof. http://www.auszookers.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=780 new auto lockers are about $400 each, new air lockers are about $1200 each. ( plus fitting if you can't do it yourself ) with a air locker you also need a compressor , which is about $300? ( luckily you only need one compressor ) |

i had a welded front for a while. They really do suck on flat ground for steering, even loose flat ground. If you don't do hard tracks don't weld your front diff. If you do a lot of hard tracks and don't have any money, go for it. JUst accept that your steering is going to be really hard if both your front wheels are on the ground. Also, power steering may help the situation, but a welded diff front or rear will make your turning circle pretty crap as well, as they want to drive you straight. |

No you can get out and unlock one hub (when 4wding) then when it gets hard, just out and lock it again. Thats about the only down side. In and out the car. I have seen Steve get in and out of his white zook quite a few times on a day run. |

steve does a very interesting curry, half from scratch, half add and stir doesnt matter what the wines tastes like, its only purpose is to get numb enough to stomach the curry

royce, doing a hard track, it's usually an up hill and you're lifting wheels or have less traction than flat ground, so it's easier to turn, in my experience anyway. If you find it hard to turn it means both wheels have good contact with the ground, so it can't be that hard. quazi, i have a new jar of Sharwoods Tikka Massala Curry Paste that i'm trialing. I usually get the Pataks Vindallo cans. |

I like em hot too, my ex knew an indian fella who made a awesome curry ... oh ya couldn't beat that one, .. and i'm always trying to get close to it but it's not easy. |

ok, standard indian curry, equal parts ground corriander and cummin equal parts(but not as much as the previous) paprika and tumeric not quite the same amount as a singel part of the previous of garamasala and nutmeg salt and pepper little oil and maranaite meat for a few hours( love this on chicken) cook off onions add tomato paste cook till starts to stick to the pan(stir a lot) then add meat oil and maranaite. cook out(till outside is cooked) add tin of coconut milk\coconut cream and cream cook till done. add rice and a nice white wine(depends on what meat u cookin) eat drink and enjoy |
