Unscrew anticlockwise.

It should just screw off, but if its an aftermarket knob, some have grub screws holding em on and/or screw off normally.
Could also be glued onto the threads.

Yeah it's just the stocko one. Dad was holding locking pliers onto the stick and I had rubber gloves twisting it anti clockwise anddd it wouldent move.. Looking at the knob from underneath there's a groove in the bottom side.. Like it slides on and then clips in or something..?

If it's the stock knob it just screws on. If you are having that much trouble shifting it i'm guessing the previous owner has Loctited it on.

Remove the gearstick from the car and clamp it in a vice. Use some big multigrips on the knob and just twist. It may (will) destroy the knob though but I'm guessing you are fitting a new one?

Yeah I had a gift voucher for supercheap which I got for Christmas last year -it needed to be spent today. I bought I gear shift knob and a new set of pedals

if it is loctite i am pritty shour that you can buy a kit made buy locktite that will loosen the threads i saw it a repco last

stick it in a vice, grab some multis and twist the bastard till either the knob comes of or it snaps in half, worked for me

That's cause I was at work.

Coily's have a touch of glue from factory, same as all Suzuki's from round that time, near snap my wrist on some of em, will come tho!!

Big pair of muilty grip's is what I use on stubborn one's! ( blue point of corpse)

Speaking of knobs, the guy at the brake shop was very confused when I took my zook in there recently.

He had to move it to get in on the hoist and I could see a wave of "WTF" fall over his face when he tried to put it in gear. My gear shift has the transfer case lever on it, and the twin sticks for the transfer case have plain black knobs

And I left the 2wd/4wd stick in neutral

Awesome stuff! Confuse the fuck out of them. Probably a good anti-theft measure as well. A mate of mine has an Eaton Roadranger gearknob with 2 air-operated range selection switches in his Falcon RTV. Get some strange looks when he takes it anywhere for service.

better then the full day it took somewhere to fit a cat back system to my mate commo that i took in for him got the same wtf look on the guys face when he hoped in and came in and said "where is reverse". How uncommon a commo with a 6 speed box i mean no ss manuals have those
