I've read few old posts about new bigger exhaust and extractors. They all are about 1.3 stock sierra one engine. I have in my zook 1.6 carby engine. I've read that bigger exhaust with high flow cat end different extractors will improve power and torque. What are your opinion in case of 1.6 carby vitara engine. Engine is bit biger so should I go for 2" or 2.25" exhaust? What kind of extractors? I honestly dont't know what kind of one I have now, but they touch gearbox(vit one), which is rather not good. Current exhaust looks rather like home made than proffesional one and muffler has holes. I will need to change it. I don't want the whole system to be loud, but I woludn't mind a bit of extra power. What are your suggestions? Standard vit extractors would fit into sierra? are they good or is there any point of fitting different ones? high flow cat and what kind of muffler?
I'm in Sydney. Anyone knows an exhaust shop in Sydney worth recommending?
what is the difference between normal exhaust and mandrel bend one or whatever is that one called?

o ok i was told that by the place i was buying my exhaust off so i took that as tech as its not the first place i have heard it but ok no worries

but still a zook wouldnt look that great witha 4 inch exhaust

Definately fit extractors and a high flow cat if you can afford them too. Also consider having your carby re-jetted after these mods, as there will be further gains to be had with proper fuel tuning. Anyone knows an exhaust shop in Sydney worth recommending? what is the difference between normal exhaust and mandrel bend one or whatever is that one called? cheers Chris Hiya, I just got extractors and a 2inch system put on my 89 SWB Vitara with G16A engine, and it is the best thing i did, yes you definitely feel a power/torque increase, you have to push the peddle less to get the same performance, but if you do push the pedal hard, like i do alot, he he, it just powers away ! I also only use Premium Unleaded now, 95 Octane, and that helps it run alot better too... And i must say, the engine just keeps running better and better, must be allowing alot of crap to clear the cylinder head now, and burning off what was there already ! I highly recommend getting extractors and a 2 inch system

sorry if it sounded like i was taking the piss i agree totally 4 pipes would be a stupid idea and yeah i know how tight it is under there i can imagine it with 4 pipes. i was actually being serious about truck stacks you sorta get the idea of what im on about? no picks of it yet the truck is still a work in progress. infact its still a chassis with everything else scattered around the yard.

looks like I have to look around for a place to do exhaust (2" high flow cat and muffler). What kind of extractors should I use sierra or vitara one, are they same? will vit one fit into sierra? what is that mandrel bend exhaust. ppl say it's so good, but expensive (I don't like that part). Why pay more for that? suzi is not a race car anyway.

Just get sierra extractors, with 2" system and high flow cat. Don't worry about mandrel bent, its a waste of time (and money) on an NA standard sierra. One thing you should get them to do is tuck it up as tight to the floor pan as possible. This will help prevent the pipe and muffler from being damaged by passing terain under the vehicle. Pete
