Hey guys

just went to take my zook out and found a small puddel of oil under my right hand rear wheel, smells like diff oil and its got abit of grey in it so im thinking it is

Its leaking on both sides from the wheels, well some oil is sitting in the rim on each side

I went up and down the drive way and everything runs fine, so again im thinking diff seals or something

What do you guys think and how should i go about fixing the bloody thing

replace the seals change the diff oil and make up some breathers
and wile you got the axels out do the rear wheel bearings

This sounds like a big job ?? Axels out what kinda tools will i be needing to do all this ??

pice of piss 4 nuts on the backing plate and put the drum back on backwords and yank it till the axels pop out or if ya got an axel puller use that but thats after you remove hand brake cable and disconect brake line

Sorry mate would you be able to type that all down step by step, from what you just said it doesnt seem that hard

and where would the seals be located ??

step 1: jack rear diff up put stands under diff
step 2: remove wheels and drums with rattel gun
step 3: clamp flexie brake line and remove brake line to w/cylinders
step 4: remove hand brake cabel, theres a littel pin that holds it there
step 5: undo 4 bolts on backing plate
step 6: put drum on backwords and yank it had till the axels come out
step 7: get seal puller or screw driver and pop seals out
step 8: put new seal in with a small hammer you can also yous the old seal to tap on to push the new seal it with.

the seals are located in the end of the housing make shour you dont score the race which the seal sits in

you will need rear axel seals diff oil and some hose if your doing diff breathers

if you dont know how to do it get someone to show you or take it to a mechanical shop coz its not that hard to screw it up

Thanks alex that helps out alot, but i think ill call my mechanic around to give me a hand, i can do it but in the past things like this i tend to brake and stuff up lol (Bloody Swift GTI !!!)

And thanks foolsp33d the pics did help, ill start it off for my mechanic and pull everything off might be cheaper that way lol

And how would yous go about making diff breathers and where would you put them out of the way in the back of a soft top ??

youll need new brake shoes cause the oil stuffs em

and if you are replacing shoes you should do cylinders to cause they will just leak when you push em back in

and if you are doing cylinders they will need a bleed so you may as well flush the brakes cause it probably hasnt been done in years

see how the little things become a big job

But from my very limited experience, Suzuki's are easier to do & don't *usually cost as much.

You didn't buy a Suzuki, you got a hobby!!!!!

all of this can be dont in no time at all :D:D i love big job when u have all the equipment to put on.
