just a quick question on aircon for a 92 swb vit carbie. Any one put aircon in there car and how hard is it (like do it your self or need pro job) ??? |

When I had it fitted to mine I just took it to a shop down the road. They charged about $200 to fit and gas it. It was a factory system. |

I would think the v6 one would have very little in common with a 92 carby system |

surely the only thing in common it needs is a bracket to fit the compressor to the engine. the rest of the system is there including airbox etc |

different dash layout on the V6? the V6 one would take cues from the ECU on what to do, carby one doesnt have that pipe layout in engine bay etc |

yeah a bit more work = buying new parts and paying more labour for system that will be a patched up mess compared to just getting the right system to suit the car I could get a corolla system for $100 I reckon, be the same effort to fit |

i dont think he meant that corollas have a "bolt on" aircon for a vit.... he was just using the corollas aircon as an example, basically, the v6 vitara is a different engine therefore aircon system, so fitting it to the 1.6 will be the same amount of work as fitting a system thats 150 dollars (approx) cheaper for the same effect. |
