If you cant afford to buy a full keyboard you may not be able to afford to do a spring over

PM JoeBlow, if you are going to pay someone to do it he would be the first place to start.

If you look in the Business directory part of this forum you will find BenT's thread, You can purchase spring perch's from him.

I'm sure there are numerous threads on how to do it, off the top of my head, Jimbojones LWB thread show's how he's done it. He's even included pretty pictures. You may see what's involved and at least you will have an idea on what's involved.

Joe is the only person I'd consider to do a SPOA, but it's expensive, and you really want to know what you are setting out to achieve.

Personally, I don't think there's much point - IMHO it's too expensive for the performance it delivers for our terrain.

hey mate,
I have/ am installing a spoa set up on my sierra atm (things are never finished :? )
i asked a few questios on here and realised i had done no where near the amount of reading and research i should have done to justify this lift.
As said before, what do you use it for? and is it something you really want to do, because it isnt exactly easily reversed! 8O

As long as you have read all the information and realise it all,
Low range offroad have a SPOA kit that gives almost everything you need, and add a steering kit to this (tie rods etc) and you wont need a great deal else for the lift, considering everything else on your car is sound..

I guess if you can find a mate or someone with a welder and some idea about how things work you might get someone to do it for a ok price, or the beer economy! :helloo:

just have a look around and read all the info.. :)

good luck!!

josh.

I never said a SPOA was a good idea, but getting Joe to do one will at least mean it's a bad idea well built. :D

i'm getting old...........

i'll even pay that one.

and no......don't pay me to do an expensive SPOA.

pay me even more and i will do an awesome coil conversion which funnily enough......is easier to engineer these days.

 :helloo:

the difference with mine was it being engineered, so it had to be done like this... even a factory crossmember needed rewelding cos the factory weld was shoddy - something that wouldnt have been noticed otherwise.

I Must Stress this even i think about doing SPOA but when u look more into it theres very little benefit from doing it to do it right your looking at 1 k in parts and thats from the usa and thats doing it on the cheap theres alot then need to be taken into Account when doing this

do reaseach more and some more and u will find out ur better going coils or something else .. also if this zook is for the road keep it leaf sprung and just flaten the backs make it more flexy ..

lol i just wanted to do something a little different and have it made legal... something to make the then DPI cringe because it broke all their rules while still saying inside of them... as much as they argued their case, by the letter of the law (and thanks to my engineer for arguing the point) it was road legal and had to be certified =)

they've changed the law since then.
