you pay the postage and I got over 30 meters of AFX track (the small one...)
4 or 6 cars , two power packs, three power tracks, bridges, lane changes and the lot, I think theres a few loops it it as well(kids love it.......)
Its quite a large box of stuff, probably weighs 10kg............
Or if you know anyone flying up from SA I can drop it to them at the airport.
I dont use it any more as I have upgrade to a lounge room full of scaletrix(the big track) on tables.. and have no room left to set up another track

I think I still have the Dick Johnson and Peter Brock Ford Sierra's, Mt. Panorama scalextric set somewhere. But sorry it's not for sale or give away
Just an idea, instead of just making him put the track together, you should make it special, almost a priveladge to use. The guy across the road use to have a model train track mounted on a large board in the garage which had to be lowered via pulley's to use. We were rarely allowed to play with it but it's something I still remember.

get it for you and your friends then
hmmm, maybe if he has some hobbies you could get into it with him. slot cars are fun but get boring very quickly so you will want something else later.
i still like remote control cars, the offroad buggy types. im sure he will to. you could get one each and race them. will cost you a bit thou.
duel player video games are fun.
something that you two can progress on every week a bit would be something to look forward to coming to as well as a few fun toys like slot cars and video games.
hope that helps.

when i was younger bike rides where my favorite thing to do with dad. every weekend we would go for massive rides all over gold coast, sometime up to 10 kms. Other cool things where stuff like microscopes, science experiments and those little electronic kits you can get from dick smiths. you could also help him do things like paint his bike his favorite colour, do basic repairs and cleaning it. this kinda stuff taught me alot about taking pride and looking after the stuff i had.
Good luck

i was in a similar sort of situation to your son when i was little (i still am little haha)
i used to love doing the two things that u said wood work and 4wding with my dad. (how old is your son) i still have a wooden boat that we made when i was six. my fav thing was 4wding. get him driving the zook out in a padock if hes tall enough.
always somthing good to brag about at school. if not let him sit on your knee and steer.

+1 on teaching them while they're young so when they're finally licensed the novelty factor is reduced & it's a good way to get them hooked on zooks.
here is gregwatkins75_Jr taking the wheel.

I learned to drive a 2 cyl Daihatsu mini van in the backyard when I was 14. Not a big yard, but didn't need it for that vehicle.
