Found this on pirate the other week. Really digging it as its the sort of guard that will protect the diff AND the steering arms as well as lif you over rather then just hitting and object and it taking the force.

My question is, will it actually work like that? Anyone here ever used one like it and would you be able to do something like this on a leaf sprung sierra without OTT steering?

i would imagine it would work to a degree, but you may find if it lifts you up over an obstical, it will lift your wheels off the ground and it will get stuck.

the rig its on would have lockers so that even if it lifts one wheel up the other will drive, but unlocked in your car i would say it will cause more issues than it solves

looks gay but would probably work ok. Knowing me I'd get it hooked up on something.

about the only advantage of that thing is the protection of the steering linkage

I can see the point, and its practical use, but for your car, no i think its going to cause issues rather than fix them

It looks like an adaptation of your standard 2-way hydro ram mount/ guard. That diff has hydro assist ram, and it pays to protect the cylinder and lines. They have just gone a little overboard

Others have made similar " guards" as a mounting point for a diff mounted suck down winch.

There was one in the latest extreme 4by mag I saw the other day that had like a bash plate welded along the front of the diff. Good idea to protect the steering but think it would have you hung up like tanshi said
