is there another model of inlet manifold design that will bolt on to a vitara 1.6 16 valve?

the one i have the throttle body is on the back pointing towards the motor

i have seen some with the throttle body on the front, is this from a different model vitara? or something else?

id like to change to the front facing throttle body, as my bonnet would clear everything, if it wasn't for the throttle body in the back.. :(

thanks

if the only reason you want to change the plenum chamber is to clear the bonnet, i think either lowering your motor or doing a small body lift would be much easier. finding a whole new intake for a vitara might be difficult

depending on what G16B you have. the Baleno Manifold might not fit. i have a Baleno G16B sitting in the garage. and the head has a different style of Port.

craaap...

thanks for all that guys. yea, it is only because of the clearance.
but i dont want to do a body lift and im trying to keep the 1.6 sump, because i dont have anything from the 1.3 anymore.

might have to do a small body lift, just enough for clearance.

thanks again for everyones quick answers..

well, the bonnet sits about 2 inches higher at the grill, but its hitting up the back on the throttle body, so would only need an inch to have clearance.

i recon ill loosen off all the body mounts, and lift it up half inch at a time, until i have clearance.

then just make a body lift at that height.

i want to keep it close to stock appearance from the outside.

Then drop the motor. The 1600 MPFI can be fitted UNDER a 1L bonnet. So a 1.3L bonnet is easy! RUF should get you the room you need to leave the stock sump in place. Just move the motor down and back, shorten your jack shaft and enjoy a more stable rig.

Low is where its at 8)

yea, this is the reason i was trying to avoid the body lift. my suspension is still stock atm, and i had the motor all bolted in :(

looks like its going on stands then, il ruf with the rear springs i have in it, drop the motor and then sort out something later.

:D

hmmm mine might be fun then
I'm not far off putting the front clip back on but its 1.6 vit and 3pd auto with no body or spring lift on stock engine mounts.

would it be possible to lose 25mm of height out of the vit inlet manifold and rewelding?? anyone?

Probably not. BEst I have done is 15mm drop. Can you make new mounts? Or are you just being lazy

Are you opposed to welding to the rail? I am no longer using my custom 1.6 mounts. Might be persuaded to send them to you  Should be good for a 30mm+ drop 8)
