Hello fellow Medicated Auszookers

As you all might have read in other posts of mine, that i am keen to build my own front bar... well this is slowly getting rolled into action and the cogs have stopped grinding in my head and started turning...

I have a Few Questions.

1. How do i make my own Winch Cradle, does every winch have a different cradle??? Has someone got the dimensions for a Winch cradle???

2. How many points through the chassis should i be bolting it. I Believe (and correct me if im wrong) To bolt things through the chassis you have to drill the hole bigger then weld a piece of tube Through the hole??? "Crush tube"

Seriously that is exactly what I am looking on ebay at this very second.
This is the one I was about to get: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0472736522

I was going to cut it down to size and weld it to the bar. But I thought I'd jump on here and ask Fatzook to see if he can make one up.

Buxbox the one you have linked to looks like a multifit sort of thing. They can sometimes be more work than they are worth.

And that one looks pretty light duty. :?

Get me some dimensions of what you want and I'll knock one up from 8mm steel.

i just got the recommended specs from the winch manufacturer and added a bit
extra for good luck.
from memory it was 6mm plate and i used 10mm.
mine is mounted feet down so i dunno if all winch's can be mounted like that.

For most people I would say yes. Its easier to work around the onstacles if they are right infront of you.

So im just curious about the mounting to the chassis bit. do you have to weld in tubes if you drill through the chassis

Mine is bolted to the end of the chassis rails. There's already holes there, I just added some small crush tubes to fit.
